Success using Social Media

Not everyone likes social media, however there is no doubt that a well-run social media campaign is essential in end consumer marketing and, also nowadays, in Pro-AV & B2B marketing.

At Re-Sauce we often get asked what ‘mediums’ a Pro-AV B2B brand should consider. Our answer, that depends on the products and the level of focus that brand has on the end user.  If the business is a true B2B, then often Twitter and LinkedIn will provide the most effective ways of getting your message out, backed up by quality content. However, LinkedIn is not as strong in some countries as others and so you also need to know more about the local territory and what works locally.

There are a variety of reasons why your business should be using social media. Ultimately, it enables your business to target specific audiences to increase sales whilst increasing your brand awareness and gaining market insight.

Since COVID-19, the world has been forced to change. Events have gone digital, face to face business meetings have gone virtual, almost everyone has had to work from home. This can only mean one thing; social media is being relied upon more than ever right now. Whether you are an SME or a large enterprise, your social media presence is important. However, you don’t want to be posting just for the sake of it. Make sure your content is relatable and more importantly, valuable. If your content is not valuable, then you might as well not post at all. The saying “quality over quantity” springs to mind, and this couldn’t be more true when it comes to your social media.

According to ‘oberlo.com’ there are 3.5 billion social media users in the world. Users are spending around 3 hours per day on social media networks, 91% of those users are using mobile devices. That is a huge market that you could potentially be targeting with your social media campaigns. 73% of marketers believe that social media marketing has been “somewhat effective” or “very effective” for their business. You can’t deny that that is a very high percentage. Maybe the question should in fact be, is there a reason social media is not good for your business?

The best part about using social media is probably the most appealing part for the finance department, it is FREE! Yes, that’s right, it is completely free to set up your business with basic accounts on all social media platforms. Yes, you can pay to become a Pro LinkedIn user or pay to run social media campaigns, but there is still a lot you can do with a free account if utilised in the correct way. Engagement is a large part of utilising your social media networks. If you engage with your followers on your own pages and comment, like and share other like-minded posts, it will increase your account algorithm stats, which leads to your business popping up on more peoples feeds, which ultimately can result in generating you more leads.

As mentioned above, we are now living in a world that is increasingly becoming more virtual every day. The last few months have been some of the toughest times. Businesses have to think outside the box and use tools that are easily available and low-cost (or even free). Social media ticks all of those  boxes if done well. So come and talk to us at Re-Sauce to see how we can help you develop and deliver an effective social media strategy, that can turn your team from followers to leaders in your field.
